Butte is located in Silver Bow county along I-90 in western Montana. It became a boom town during the late 18th century as several copper and silver mines sprang up just as electricity was being harnessed. Butte became the largest producer of copper in North America, and was only outpaced by South Africa as the largest copper producer in the world. Not surprisingly, Butte became one of the very first cities in the world to become all electric since the resources were already there.
When visiting Butte, the Dumas Brothel recommends staying at The Miners Hotel 53 W. Park St in Butte, Montana.
